Mitch Allan is the incredibly talented lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist from the band SR-71. All of the music this band releases is awesome. The lyrics are very true to life. And there is a lot of humor, aggression, passion and life going on in each and every song.
Mitch Allan writes a great many of the songs, a few are also written by a bandmate (John Allen). And there are not even adequate words to describe what these songs are to me and how much they move me. The music this band produces is like no other I've ever heard.
SR-71 isn't the first band Mitch Allan has been in. And today, he is the only original band member left from their first release (Now You See Inside). Mitch's first band was called World Origin and it only lasted for one show which was a battle of the bands contest (which they won).
His next band, Honor Among Thieves lasted a bit longer. This band gathered a local following and were pretty popular. They tried to get a record deal, but met with resistant record companies. Later on, with a new band line-up, they did release an album, independantly, called Grow. After this they signed on with a management company and changed their name to RadioStar.
RadioStar played many places, and after some time, the management company thought they were good enough to be signed by a label. After sending out a sample of their music, they received many offers. Once they were signed, they found another band by the same name, and had to change theirs. They decided on SR-71, which is who we know and love today.
So, as you can see, Mitch Allan has been working at this for a long time, and his hard work and talent has gotten him to this point. His first band (that lasted longer than one show) was formed in 1990, and ten years later, his band released their first major label album.
And he wouldn't have gotten this far if he hadn't been so talented and driven. He's an amazing musician who writes the most memorable and wonderful songs. He's just plain amazing.
